The original reason behind doing my own translation of the Bible was not finding a Bible Story book anywhere for children that satisfied my need for including the whole story, for accuracy and for the pure enjoyment of reading it aloud to children. The Bible Story I’d read to my own children had errors in it, and other Bible Story books were either highly condensed versions or too religious.
So, like C. S. Lewis, who couldn’t find the books he wanted to read either, I decided to write my own! And then my first granddaughter came along, and that was the incentive I needed to get started. I did (and am still doing) this for her.
